To the Zoo!

Last weekend we got to enjoy the beautiful weather with Derek's family, and a trip to the zoo. It was the perfect day to go, warm and breezy and not too crowded. Annabel had more fun this time than she did last summer, too. She especially loved riding the carousel! :)

Annabel is hiding behind a flying horse in this picture!

Loving the elephants!
She wanted to push the stroller herself! Luckily it wasn't too crowded :)

The girls, just taking it easy

Annabel is 10 Hands tall!

Spending time with Grandma Sue

The girls looked so cute in their matching jackets and pigtails! Even from this distance you can tell the different eye colors!

Today I had my 30-week ultrasound. This was a followup for my low-lying placenta. Thankfully everything seemed to look good so we should be able to go ahead with a natural birth. Yay! It was so amazing to see the baby at this stage. He was so wiggly and squirmy! We got to see his adorable little face, with his mouth just sucking away and his eyes opening and shutting. He even has HAIR! We could see it floating in the fluid! Right now he is head-down, with his legs folded over - like he's looking between his knees. Doesn't seem comfortable to me... maybe that's why he's so squirmy :)

You may have to stare at this picture for a minute... but slowly you will see a close-up of his face! His eyes are closed in this picture- doesn't he look peaceful!

A shot of his arm/hand and foot- cute!

It's a boy!!!

Spring Has Sprung?

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but we have been having some wonderful weather up here in Northern Indiana! (that sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it??) After such a loooong winter cooped up indoors, we have welcomed the sunshine and 50/60 degree days with enthusiasm! We try to get out in the stroller at least once a day, sometimes more, and spend a lot of time just coloring outside with sidewalk chalk. One of Annabel's favorite things to do right now is to run laps back and forth between our neighbor's driveways. She can do this continuously for about 15 minutes! :) She has 4 months of pent up energy to get out!

Annabel is entering a stage in which she loves to dress up. I guess that's a girl for ya! ;) She changes her clothes about 4 times a day, and it is so funny to see what she comes down the stairs in. Ok, so it's a little aggravating sometimes, like when I have her dressed for daycare or church and she goes upstairs to potty and comes back down dressed only in tights and a sun hat, but I try to be patient :)

She is also very, very into her baby dolls. She has 4- yellow baby, pink baby, white baby and Polly Walnuts (purple baby)! Each are special to her and she is very deliberate about which one she wants to play with that day. Her babies get fed, sometimes nursed, :) rocked and read to, frequent naps (keep dreaming!) and yes, sometimes disciplined. Here she is sitting with yellow baby while she gets a "time out." As I was trying to find out what horrible offense yellow baby had occurred, all I could get out of her was that she had "bumped her head." Er, ok.

One day this week we went out to some friends' house to watch/help them make some maple syrup. It was so cool! I am a huge maple syrup fan, so they invited us over to see the process of tapping their own trees and then boiling it down to syrup. They have 4 kids of their own, and I wish I would have taken some pictures of them all jumping on the trampoline with Annabel. I have never seen her have so much fun! But here are some pictures of the maple syrup, if you're interested!

Derek has been getting a few catering jobs here and there. He did a show in Kokomo (a dessert expo) a few weeks ago and that may have helped get some extra business. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least a few weddings this summer to fund the vacation pot! I'm really hoping to take the kiddos to Florida next spring to the beach and Disney :)

Annabel has a new little cousin! Little Kaelynn was was born early Friday morning (midnight-ish). Annabel and I stopped by on our way down to Indy Friday to see her- she is adorable! Annabel was absolutely fascinated and couldn't stop folding and unfolding the blanket around her, rubbing her toes and legs and messing with her outfit. Aunt Holly even let her hold her! I think it's safe to say she is going to LOVE having her very own baby in the house :)

That same day, I took Annabel to the Children's Museum in Indy. It was pretty crowded, and I have to admit that I didn't have a very good time. I didn't take the stroller, and I definitely wish I would have. It was a stressful afternoon, complete with A dropping her pacifier in the toilet and suffering a MAJOR meltdown consequently. I don't usually let her have the pacie during the day, but I could tell she was pretty stressed out by the crowds and noise as well. She certainly has both her mom and dad's introverted personality! There was a Barbie exhibit that she really enjoyed. She sat right down at a table with another lady and told her, "I play Barbies at my house, too!"

There is a branch of the Marion Co library in the building with the museum, and that was probably the best part of our day:) It was nice to relax in the quiet library and let Annabel unwind a little with books. Seriously, she is my child through and through.

After leaving the museum, we met Grammy and Papa in Greenwood for supper. They are keeping her for the weekend so I can get some spring cleaning (and blogging!) done. I'm having carpet cleaners here today (yay!) and am hoping to get the play room painted tomorrow. We'll see how that goes ;) And if all goes well, I'm hoping Derek will take me to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D at the IMAX tomorrow night!
And for your viewing pleasure, belly pics from 24 and 25 weeks:
